So I made my first fanmix this weekend, and let me tell you, it is hard work. The graphic alone took me an entire day, but that was mostly because GIMP was screwing up as usual. And then I had to find the songs and there was this whole mess with my iTunes because a lot of my music wasn't backed up on my hard drive, so I figured I'd do that while I was at it and then my files wouldn't work on Mediafire so I had to fix that, but I finally did it. This Halloween is turning out better than I thought it would. I actually ended up making plans, though they aren't really what I had in mind. My friends and I had talked about watching scary movies at someone's house, but then my friend that I haven't seen in weeks called and asked me to go trick or treating with her, and she formally asked me first, so I said yes. I don't particularly want to go trick or treating because I don't actually have a costume, but I really wanted to see her.
 
And, as usual, I am about ready to kill my AP Euro teacher. She's giving a project to us where we have to have a trial for a ruler who has been accused of unfit rule. I wouldn't have a problem with that, but it's a group project and I have been assigned the most awful, apathetic bunch of numbskulls in the class. In other words, I will be doing most, if not all, of the work for a project that I would rather go skydiving than do. fml.

AN: I found this Faberry fic in my computer- I wrote it over the summer- and I decided to publish it on here before putting it on fanfiction.net. Basically, the concept is that Quinn and Rachel are duet partners for a glee assignment and they end up falling in love. It takes place over a week. Enjoy and comment what you think!
 
CHAPTER ONE: MONDAY
 
MONDAY
Rachel looked up from her piles of sheet music when Quinn walked into the choir room.
 
“Hello, Quinn!” she greeted the other girl.
 
“Let’s just get this over with. Knowing you, you’ve already picked out a duet, so just hand over the sheet music and I’ll be on my way. We can run it during free period next Friday and we’ll be all set. No extra time spent together, no tedious rehearsals, no nothing. It’s perfect,” Quinn said bluntly.
 
“Well, I would personally like to have a few more rehears-” Rachel began.
 
“No way,” Quinn cut her off. “We’re going to do this as painlessly as possible. Sheet music, please.”
 
“Look, neither of us is happy with this assignment. But can’t we just make the best of it?” Rachel said. “And I don’t have a duet picked out yet. I was going to ask you what you wanted.” She gestured to the sheet music stacked neatly on the piano.
 
Quinn walked over and scanned them. “Bye Bye Birdie? Wicked? Annie Get Your Gun?”
She said incredulously. “These really aren’t my style.”
 
“Well, what did you have in mind?”
 
“I don’t know...maybe something a little less…Broadway.”
 
“I’ll think about it. But let’s just see how our voices work together using one of these songs I have here.” Rachel plucked one off the top of the stack. “‘I’ve Never Been In Love Before.’ Okay, not exactly ideal, but it’s just a test. Are you familiar with Guys and Dolls, Quinn?”
 
“A little. I mean, I’ll try…”
 
“Okay, then. Brad, we’re ready!”
 
Rachel handed Quinn a copy of the music as she started to sing:

Quinn had never noticed this before, but Rachel was kind of beautiful when she was singing. She felt every note in the song; every phrase came from her heart. All that passion that had previously been annoying was suddenly very…hot.
 
I’ve never been in love before,
I thought my heart was safe.
I thought I knew the score.
 
Quinn was unabashedly staring at Rachel, completely hypnotized by her. She didn’t even notice that it was her turn to sing until Rachel shouted her name. She tentatively opened her mouth, guessing at the notes of the song:

That’s all too strange and strong.
I’m full of foolish song,
And out my song must pour.
 
Quinn was in heaven when Rachel started to sing with her.
 
So please forgive this helpless haze I’m in,

And before she knew it, she had walked up to Rachel, gripped her face and kissed her. Rachel pushed her away. “Quinn…I…” she said, taken aback. “What are you doing?”
 
“I’m sorry,” Quinn said, looking down. “That was…completely out of line. I shouldn’t have done that. I’m really, really sorry.”
 
“Don’t be sorry.” Rachel leaned in. “That song is a great love song…in the heat of the moment, I can understand your urge to kiss me. It’s…it’s fine.”
 
“So…you’re not mad?”
 
“No, of course not. Surprised, yes. But not mad. So, are we good? Still friends?”
 
“Yeah, we’re good.”

11) Do you have any strange phobias?
Yes. It's not a phobia per se, it's pretty manageable, but down escalators freak me out. Only down escalators.

I don't have a religion. I was not raised in any particular faith. My parents just sort of left the whole figuring-out-the-universe thing to me, and I'm very grateful for that. That being said, I am an atheist in the sense that I don't believe in the typical Judeo-Christian-Islamic god. I don't believe in the creation story, I don't believe in heaven or hell, and I don't believe that there is a man in the sky watching over us. I do believe that there is probably some sort of force or something at work, but not anything concrete.
 
14) If you are outside, what are you most likely doing?
I'm probably taking a walk. I'm really not an outdoorsy person, but if it's nice out or if I need some time to myself I like to go for a walk with my iPod and just think about things.
 
15) Do you perfer to be behind the camera or in front of it?
Behind it. I'm really not photogenic at all.
 
19) What does your URL mean?
rocketshipsarah is taken a little bit from AVPM where Draco is saying, "Rocket ship Potter! Moon shoes Potter! Starkid Potter!" So I just put my name in instead of "Potter," and rocketshipsarah was born.

I have. It's so fantastic.
 
28) What's your biggest "what if"?
What if I fail? And I don't mean fail a test. I mean what if I fail at life and being successful and happy?
 
29) Do you believe in ghosts? How about aliens?
I don't believe in your typical sci-fi aliens, but I do believe that there are other planets out there that can support life. They may not be like anything on Earth- they may just be bacteria- but I do think it might be possible. And ghosts...that's a tricky one. I don't believe that ghosts roam the Earth or anything. I sometimes like to think that relatives or friends of mine who have died are watching me or something. I know I said I didn't believe in the after life previously, but sometimes it's just a nice thought.
 
35) To you, what is the meaning of life?
I think that the meaning of life is in the little moments- those wild nights with your friends, when your favorite song comes on the radio, the way you feel when you're doing what you love. I also think that my ultimate Life Goal is to find my passion and use it for something.

Probably quitting ice skating. By the time I quit, I was absolutely miserable and I was so afraid to stop doing something that had basically been my entire life. But once I did it, it was sort of liberating.

I think it would probably be last June. I did a monologue at my school's arts-program-showcase thing and everyone loved it and that whole night I was just so happy. It was one of the best nights of my life.
